St. Louis Museum of Transportation

Kirkwood, called the "Queen of the St. Louis Suburbs", was the first planned suburb west of the Mississippi River.
The thriving community features attractions such as the St. Louis Museum of Transportation, Powder Valley Nature Center, the Magic House and the Farmer's Market which is open April through September.
A wide variety of antique stores line the street adjacent to the historic Kirkwood Train Station, which was built in 1853. Following extensive renovation, the station now serves as a stop for Amtrak. Nearby, the Kirkwood Farmers' Market provides fresh produce for residents and visitors.
