Delmar Boulevard was awarded "One of Ten Great Streets" in America in 2010 by American Planning Association.

University City is located just north of the Washington University campus. It is known as the "U City Loop" for the streetcars that once came down Delmar Boulevard and turned around in front of the ornate stone lion gates.

The business area features some of the most eclectic shopping in the city with craft stores, art galleries, record shops, book stores and gift shops. The neighborhood features a unique selection of ethnic restaurants including Vietnamese, Indian, Thai and Japanese.

Visitors can walk on the "Walk of Fame", enjoy a concert in the Duck Room at Blueberry Hill, take in a movie at the Tivolli Theatre or enjoy a tour of Fitz's Root Beer Bottling Company.

The ornate University City Hall is located in the historic octagonal Beaux Arts building near the University City Library. Built in 1903 by University City founder E.G. Lewis, it was visible from the site of the 1904 World's Fair in Forest Park.
